The course welcomes expert guest lecturers from academia and professionals, seeking to find a balance between theory and practice. Winter session is an accelerated three-week session taught entirely online to provide accessibility for students during winter break. See the course overviews to learn more about these courses. Taught entirely in English, each course includes 30 contact hours and is worth 4 ECTS. This two-week online winter course will enable participants to understand better the context in which forced migration takes place, the social change this triggers in hosting communities and the efforts needed to successfully integrate refugees. The Winter School provides students the opportunity to explore contemporary challenges by taking one course of intensive study in the social sciences. Online winter courses cover all types of courses including typing courses, singing courses, music learning courses, cookery courses, and fashion designing courses, hairstyling courses, sports courses, golf courses and computer courses. We will look specifically into a few displacement situations across the world and dive deeper into the topic of integration of refugees and the gender angle in displacement. Challenges related to displacement, integration, and social exclusion exist all around the world. In our online international classroom, we will discuss these global governance issues from diverse perspectives such as sociology, geopolitics, international refugee law, and anthropology. We will focus on global politics, get an introduction in international refugee law and learn more about state's responses to refugee influxes.
